The Children Come First [CCF] Privacy Policy covers all data collected and used by CCF. We do not share, rent or sell personal information we receive from visitors and members such as name, addresses or emails with third parties except to fulfill an order when we need to get the product directly from the publisher or distributor. When we post submissions to the site it is with the permission of the original author after giving him/her opportunity to edit their remarks.
In addition to our simple yet firm commitment to safeguarding your privacy, the following CCF Children Privacy Policy provides further information and privacy protections for children who are under 13 years of age.
Information Collection and Use
Under the Children Online Privacy Protection Act, no web site operator can require, as a condition to participation in an activity, that a child younger than 13 years of age disclose more information than is reasonably necessary.
CCF complies with this requirement. CCF only collects information voluntarily provided; no information is collected passively. Our web site advises children under 13 that they are not permitted to order merchandise or submit their writings without permission from their parents. Children under 13 can send an electronic card from the CCF site and are required only to submit their first name and e-mail address and the first name and email address of their friend. This information is used only to send the electronic card, and is subsequently deleted.
Although children under 13 may be allowed to participate in some contests and promotions by providing their e-mail address, if such a child wins, notification is sent to the e-mail address of the child asking for the email addres of the parent so an e-mail can be sent to their parent who will provide the required information. This information is used solely to conduct the sweepstakes and fulfill prizes.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
CCF does not share personally identifiable information of children with anyone, except as herein set forth. No information collected from children under 13 is used for any marketing or promotional activities. CCF will share personally identifiable information about a child with other third parties providing services on our behalf, such as in connection with the winning of a prize or contest or when we need to send the information to companies that work on our behalf to provide a product or service that has been requested by a parent on behalf of a child.
Ability to Update or Delete Information
In the event that CCF collects and retains personal information pertaining to a child under 13, the parent may send an e-mail to us using our Contact Form to review, change and/or delete such information as well as to refuse to allow any further collection or use of the information of the child.
